Adeno-associated viruses (AAVs) play a crucial role in gene therapy, but producing high-quality vectors at scale remains challenging, particularly due to inefficiencies in DNA packaging. This results in a high proportion of empty or improperly loaded capsids. To address this, Refeyn, Rentschler Biopharma, and the Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult, with support from Innovate UK, have collaborated to develop advanced process analytical technologies (PAT) to improve AAV manufacturing. This webinar will highlight how innovative tools like mass photometry are being used to optimize AAV production and enhance the quality of gene therapies.
