Retroviral integration into the host genome by HIV-1 is a complex process that is important for  therapeutics. Assembly of the integration complex, the intasome, could serve as a therapeutic target as preventing its formation would block viral integration. Here, we demonstrate that mass photometry, used in combination with the MassFluidix™ HC microfluidics system, can overcome existing analytical challenges to enable the study of HIV-1 intasome assembly.

APP NOTE: Mass photometry analysis of samples at micromolar concentration

Analyzing biomolecular interactions is straightforward with mass photometry. The technology enables the quantitative analysis of binding, oligomerization and macromolecular assembly – in solution and without the need for labels. Now, Refeyn’s microfluidics system, MassFluidix™ HC, significantly expands the range of sample concentrations amenable to investigation by mass photometry, enabling applications such as the characterization of low-affinity interactions.

Webinar: Mass Photometry 103: Understanding low affinity interactions with MassFluidix HC

In this webinar, Refeyn’s Kayleigh Fay illustrates how MassFluidix™ HC enhances the analytical capabilities of mass photometry to include low-affinity protein–protein interactions. You’ll see how the system works, explore potential applications, and review example data and recommendations for successful experiments.
